Budget Package Tour to Olkhon island (4 day / 3 night).

Day 1

Public minibus going to Khuzir, Olkhon island will pick you up from the Baikaler Hostel (pick up time is 7.45am, est. time of departure is 9 am, seats are reserved in advance)

Stop for lunch (not included). I recommend eating local Buryat specialty - big dumplings called posy.

Afternoon arrival to your homestay (you will be expected there and a driver will dropped off at their front gates). Hosts: Olya and Kolya (They speak no English).

You will be spending all 3 nights at the same place in Khuzir: it is a home of Olya and Kolya. I met Kolya in 1996 during my first visit to the island. I was with 2 friends and we got stuck in sand dunes 20 km after the main village. Kolya and his fishing brigade pulled out car. We drunk all night and become friends. I started to bring tourists to Olkhon in 1999 and accommodate them at Olya and Kolya's place. It is good place to stay, they are my reliable friends and we are constantly improving our services.

Accommodation: wooden house. No running water. Outhouse. Home cooked meals.

Dinner. Overnight there.

Day 2

Full board. Usually, we have breakfast at 9am, lunch at 2pm and dinner at 8pm. If you want different times, please let them know.

Your own time to explore the island. I'd recommend to walk to the shore, taking the left hill, enjoy the view of magnificent Shamanka or Burkhan Cape (once a center of shamanism, now a great object for practicing your photography skills) . Continue to the Cape itself, up to the right hill, down to the sand beach. You may also want to stroll 3 km along the beach, walk up through the forest to the main road and return to the village (3.5 hr walk).

Day 3

Full board.

4WD excursion to the North of the island. It is a day trip (depart at 10am, other tourists are in that minibus!)) where you cover 70km and visit several picturesque cliffs and see the breathtaking panorama of the widest (80km) part of Baikal.

Picnic lunch!

Returning to your homestay at 5-6 pm.

Day 4

Breakfast.

You'll be collected at your homestay by a public minibus and return by road to Baikaler Hostel, (or bus station if needed) Irkutsk by 3-4 pm.

Overnight in Irkutsk at Baikaler Hostel can be arranged.

Price per person: 5300 R (min. number of people required: 1-2)
